During the Plus Camerimage Festival the world premiere of the first novel by the famous American journalist, Lawrence Grobel will take place. Grobel is the author of the amazing conversations with Al Pacino, or Marlon Brando, which have become the bestselling positions on the world book market.



Lawrence Grobel is the master of American journalism, he collaborates with New York Times, he is the author of Conversations with Al Pacino, Conversations with Marlon Brando, The Art of the Interview. He works with such magazines as Playboy, Movieline's Hollywood Life. During his career he has been writing for New York Times, Rolling Stone, Details and Entertainment Weekly, where he has published fascinating interviews with the greatest celebrities: Al Pacino, Angelina Jolie, Madonna, Luciano Pavarotti, Kim Basinger, Barbra Streisand, Anthony Hopkins, Truman Capote, Henry Fonda and many others. Grobel is the winner of PEN Special Achievement Award. Presently, he gives lectures about the art of the interview at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA).

Thanks to his work as a journalist Grobel has become familiar with the private lives of the greatest Hollywood celebrities. In his novel, the author presents the world of celebrities from the side that they most frequently want to hide – full of manipulation, sex and drugs. The Resurrection of Layton Cross is a story of a former Hollywood celebrity whose life has become a downward spiral and he loses control over his life. The book will be published by Warsaw's Axis Mundi and its premiere will take place during the Plus Camerimage Festival in Łódź. This unusual book is under the honorary patronage of Plus Camerimage.
During the Festival Lawrence Grobel will take part in the meeting and will be talking about his professional work and will reveal the secrets of the creation of his first novel. The meeting will also give us the opportunity to buy the unique copy of the novel with the author's signature (Polish language version). Grobel will be also one of the members of the Documentary Films Competition Jury (feature films section) at the Festival.

The meeting with the author will take place in the Grand Theatre in Lodz on Wednesday 2nd Dec at 1pm
