POOR MAN'S PROCESS, OLIVER STAPLETON, BSC
A masterclass in the traditional approach to lighting in-car scenes
Instead of the three-wall set typically seen at lighting workshops, Stapleton’s masterclass will be based around a real car, incorporating both night and daytime setups. Poor Man’s Process is a technique designed to achieve believable in-car sequences without the expense of location work, CGI, greenscreens or even back projection. The illusion of motion and depth is created through the subtle manipulation of light.

If you do not want to compromise the quality of your images this Kodak seminar is designed for you!
You will see the latest demonstration celebrating the anniversary of Kodak’s proprietary T-Grain technology. T-Grain, or Tabular Grain, has significantly more surface area than the conventional silver halide crystal and has been proved to be a more efficient light absorber.
The first screening of the T-Grain demo will be on the 3rd December. The demonstration film traces film capture improvements as a result of T-Grain technology over recent years and compares different Kodak film stocks in a variety of lighting conditions.
Major motion picture industry partners will also present methods of shooting film within a budget and benefits gained, including the use of new de-graining technologies in post-production for images originated on S16MM and 2-perf 35mm film.
This seminar will leave you in no doubt of the progressive technology built into every frame of Kodak camera negative film and the most recent tools available in post-production.

Movies are made in post-production. That is a fact that many young filmmakers do not understand until they are way deep into the mysterious process and wish they had realized earlier how important it was and had planned better for it. Post-production is the general term for all stages of the filmmaking process that occurs after the actual end of shooting of the film. The post-production process can last anywhere from a few weeks to a few years, depending on the project and the director. Post-Production is the unsung hero of the filmmaking process and I think most filmmakers will agree, it is the time when all that they have worked for in development, pre-production and shooting comes together and defines their work.
